ORIENTATION BRIEFING
I served in the Canadian Forces for 20 years (1979-1999), something of which I am particularly proud. Over the years (since I got my e-mail account) friends have been sending me military humour. I've collected it and just let it sit in the file. I thought that it would be a good idea to dedicate a page to military humour.
Most of the stuff that was sent me has a very distinctive American flavour (or should I say flavor?). I modified a lot of them to have Canadian military jargon, instead of American military jargon.
Durty Dan's Army Life Page is here to point out the more humourous side of army life and poke fun at some of the institutions I couldn't poke fun of when I was in the Army. (For fear of being labelled as "disloyal".)
Civvies may not "get" some of the things in this page. I didn't write any of this stuff for the entertainment of those who have never been in National Service.
Please note that I do not know the original writers of most of this stuff, but I have put them under my copyright to preserve them. I give credit where I can, however. I also apologize tot he original writers for changing their work.
