THIS PAGE IS NOT FOR NEWBIES
You can go almost anywhere on the net and find advice for newbies. You'll see articles on "Your First Day Out", "How to Play", "What is Paintball?" and a host of others.
Where do you go when you already know all this stuff? Even though I have written many articles to introduce people into the sport of paintball I find these articles of little interest as a paintball player with fifteen years of playing experience. My first day out was a decade and a half ago. I know what paintball is. I know what I need to bring to the field.
This is exactly why this page is here. There isn't much information for advanced players on the internet.
Due to the fact that this is a page for advanced players, you are probably wondering what I define as "advanced". Here's a check list:
Please keep in mind that it's not how long or how often you've played but what level you're at now.
There will be some "newbie bashing" in this page. Personally I prefer to play with a group of experienced players. I don't think newbies and experienced players should be mixed. This is especially the case when the newbies are first-timers. I don't refuse to let newbies play with my group, per se, but I do make it clear that we're not going to ease up on them or give them a chance. They will feel like they're getting outclassed, and that's because they are. If they have a problem with that they can approach me or another experienced player and ask for help. Whining about getting hosed is not asking for help.
I'm more than willing to help newbies, even during a game. I just prefer not to have them around when I'm playing.
Yes, I know, I was a newbie once, too. I remember what it was like. However, I'm not a newbie any more and I don't like to play with newbies any more.
Be that as it may, and no matter what your opinion on newbies, this page is for the players out there who can't find anything to read on the net (or in magazines) that's written to their skill level.
