KISS MY O-RING!
Developing Pumpitude

What is Pumpitude? It is the attitude of the pump player (I also include stock players in this). The main principle in proper Pumpitude is this: No matter what, never allow semi players to think that they're better than we are. Semi players think they're a force to be reckoned with, just because they have firepower. I have said this before and I will say it again; firepower is not fifty misses, it's the ONE shot that hits and marks.

Pump players know how to PLAY, not just shoot. We don't have the luxury of firepower to make up for a lack of skill on our part. A pump player has to be smarter and more cunning than a semi player if they want to stay in the game. With that in mind, you have the basis for Pumpitude.

WHAT TO DO WHEN MORONS WITH SEMIS MAKE FUN OF YOUR PUMP

Do what I do, give them the Pumpitude Challenge.

This is what you say:

"Alright let's settle this once and for all. I don't think firepower will make you a better player. So pick your field, bring any gun you want, and I'll bring my pump. We'll play one-on-one and the winner gets the satisfaction of knowing they were right all along. [deliberate short pause of two seconds] Oh yeah, I almost forgot, we each only get twenty balls."

Normally, semi players are really keen to have the opportunity to get an easy kill, until they hear the last sentence, that's when they usually back off. Few semi players are going to agree to a twenty shot limit. When they back down this is your opportunity to make fun of THEM.

If they don't back down, no problem. This is a win/win situation for YOU. No matter who gets eliminated, you've proven YOUR point. When they start jumping around and congratulating themselves walk over to them and say: "See I was right, you don't need firepower to be a better player. Good game, dude." and shake their hand.

If you do eliminate them, don't "rub salt in the wound", ask them if they'd like to come out and play pump with you some time.

PUMPITUDE STICKERS

Here are some slogans you can have made into stickers. I'm not about to start making them myself for sale. What I do is use my label maker to make stickers for my marker. When they wear out I replace them. It saves me a lot of money. (Note: Feel free to substitute "stock" for the word "pump" if you're a stock player.)

Here's the list.
