DDPD-INTRODUCTION

You are now on the page known as Durty Dan's Paintball Dictionary. I have attempted to define most paintball terms in this on-line dictionary.

The dictionary is arranged so that every letter has it's own page and you can go from one letter to any other letter using the hyperlinks at the bottom of every page.

When I thought it required an illustration, I included one, some of the illustrations are even animated. The animated illustration may seem to move very fast. This is because I didn't want the files to become too large and not download quickly enough. All you have to do is hit the "refresh/reload" button on your browser to start the animation over again.

I have seen other on-line paintball dictionaries and they are usually restricted to, on average, fifty entries. This dictionary has almost 300.

Although I do not have EVERY term in here, it's as complete as your going to get.

NOTES:

Terms which start with numbers, such as 12-grams, the number will be written out, therefore, you can find "twelve grams" under "T".
If you are looking up a term, sometimes you will find no definition, but a cross reference. For instance if you look up "loader" you will simply get "See Feeder". If you see a "q.v." this also means the term is found elsewhere in the dictionary. Usually I provided a link, if I didn't, please let me know. (There's a "mail" buitton at the bottom of every page below the letter links.) If the reference is on the same page (both words start with the same letter) I have provided no link (that's what your scroll bar is for).

WHAT YOU WON'T FIND:

I purposely left out terms that were "marker specific"; many markers contain parts or have associated terminology that only pertains to that particular marker like 3-way, beaver tail, A.I.R. valve.
Brand names (unless the brand name has become a proper noun like Autoresponse, Fasst Change and ASA.

All of the articles in the "virtual book" Durty Dan's Paintball Information Services are free to use for webpages, school projects, reference and to promote paintball to players and the non-playing public. Credit for the source of the information should be included in the bibliography or references page.
