SHI-TAMAJUTSU

The Art of the Four Spheres

Paintball as a Martial Art

Shi-Tamajutsu is Japanese for "The Art of the Four Spheres". As you can see the kamon (or symbol) of Shi-Tamajutsu is three white circles inside a black circle. These four circles represent the tama or spheres, the tama also represents a paintball.

The spheres represent the underlying spirit and goal of Shi-Tamajutsu:

Ki Teppou Tai Ichi

This means: "spirit, gun, body, one". The three white circles represent Ki, Teppou, and Tai. The black circle, representing Ichi holds them together. This will be explained further in another lesson.
